Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera), in partnership with Telemundo, will present Fiesta Fort Worth, a family-friendly party featuring a simulcast of the mariachi opera Cruzar la Cara de la Luna in Sundance Square Plaza. This free event honors the incredible cultural diversity of the North Texas community and celebrates Latino culture and heritage while offering everyone across Fort Worth an opportunity to see the world’s first mariachi opera, featuring the legendary Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán.

The city’s 55,000 square foot outdoor plaza will be filed with local artists, such as Sol de Fort Worth Ballet Folklórico, Guitar Fort Worth, Ballet Folklórico Azteca de Fort Worth, JP Elder Middle School, Mariachi Espuelas de Plata of North Side High School, Ballet Folklórico de Fort Worth, Inc., a performer from the Kimbell Art Museum, and more.

The evening’s festivities will feature family-oriented activities and appearances by prominent community leaders from Telemundo, Rep. Marc Veasey, FWISD Trustee Jacinto “Cinto” Ramos Jr., and Rep. Ramon Romero Jr. Fiesta Fort Worth and the simulcast of the opening-night performance of Cruzar la Cara de la Luna are made possible in part by the generosity of OPERA America, through The Opera Fund: Audience Development grant program.
