Billy's Oak Acres BBQ
Using a decades-old pit, bounty hunter-turned-cook Billy Woodrich dishes out some of the area's best barbecue in a funky, run-down tavern. Brisket comes from Creekstone Farms, the same company that supplies Austin's lauded Franklin's. Get it "moist," with the buttery fat still intact. By the plate, pound or sandwich, Woodrich also serves pulled pork, pork sausage, ribs, bologna, turkey and hot links. Just as good as the 'cue is the chicken fried steak, so big you won't see the plate until you're done.
