Jazz Cafe looks like a junk store: Furniture is mismatched and ramshackle, antiques are strewn about, and everything's in disarray. That's part of the appeal of this long-running restaurant, which was originally located downtown (in the 19th century building now occupied by Bird Cafe), under the name Daddio's. Lunch is made up of gyros, hummus, and other Greek staples. Best time to go is Saturday and Sunday breakfast, when egg dishes, fluffy pancakes, and housemade biscuits come flying out of the kitchen while a live jazz band rattles and hums in the background. It's quite the scene, Daddio.
