The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth is known worldwide for its small but highly-respected collection. The museum rarely shows more than 350 pieces of art at one time, but the quality of those works is second to none. That includes Michelangelo's The Torment of Saint Anthony, the artist's first known painting and the only one to be displayed in the United States. The majority of the collection is focused on non-American art and art that came before the 1950s so as not to compete with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth or the Amon Carter Museum.
