Child Care Associates, the largest child development non-profit in North Texas, will hold its annual Early Childhood Investors’ Luncheon. The fundraiser will feature entertainment by comedian Michael Jr., who has spent his career making laughter common in uncommon places like homeless shelters and prisons, while inspiring his fans through sketches, stand-up, and films.
Local business leader and philanthropist Happy Baggett is chairing the event, convening community leaders from the business, philanthropy and education sectors to galvanize support for high quality early education through the newly created Happy Baggett Early Childhood Development Fund (Happy Fund), targeted to help secure $12 million over the next several years to immediately improve the quality of 23 existing CCA early childhood campuses, as well as build new campuses in Fort Worth and Tarrant County.
CCA is the largest child development nonprofit in North Texas and has served more than 500,000 young children in the past 50 years. Through Head Start and Early Head Start programs, CCA delivers early education that ensures children who need it most are ready to succeed in school. As a “whole-child, whole-family” program, CCA offers support in areas such as mental health, emotional development and nutrition.
