Amon Carter Museum of American Art presents Sunset Cinema: A League of Their Own
For the final screening in its Sunset Cinema series, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art will present A League of Their Own. There's no crying in baseball, but there will be plenty of fun at this outdoor screening, at which you can bring lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers. There will also be food trucks on hand if you don't pack your own picnic.

Kimbell Art Museum presents Kimbell Social Club: Chris Johnson
Kimbell Art Museum will present Kimbell Social Club, featuring a live performance by Telegraph Canyon’s Chris Johnson and a selection of $3 craft beer from Wild Acre Brewing Company. There will be hors d’oeuvres available for purchase, and as always, the museum stays open late on Fridays, allowing visitors more time to see exhibits like "A Modern Vision."
Magnolia at the Modern presents The Journey
The latest in the Magnolia at the Modern series is The Journey, a fictional account of the extraordinary story of two implacable enemies in Northern Ireland. Firebrand Democratic Unionist Party leader Paisley (Timothy Spall) and Sinn Fein politician Martin McGuinness (Colm Meaney) are forced into a short journey together in which they take a leap of faith and change the course of history. The film will screen six times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Jubilee Theatre presents Beehive: The '60s Musical
Beehive: The '60s Musical is a wild toe-tapping, head-shakin’ musical tribute to the rockin’ women who made the music of the ‘60s so special — everyone from Lesley Gore to Janis Joplin, The Shirelles to The Supremes, Aretha Franklin to Tina Turner. The production, playing through August 27 at Jubilee Theatre, features such iconic tunes as "My Boyfriend’s Back," "One Fine Day," "Downtown," "Proud Mary," and "Piece of My Heart."
Mark Chestnutt in concert
Country singer Mark Chestnutt has had a fine career, scoring eight No. 1 hits in his nearly 30 years of making music. Unfortunately for him, he rose to fame at the same time as mega-stars like Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and Clint Black, ensuring that he would never be considered one of the all-time greats. He's still putting out great music, though, including 2016's Tradition Lives, which he'll play in support of at Billy Bob's Texas.

Discover the Dinosaurs Unleashed
This family-friendly, educational walk-through exhibit features several prehistoric attractions. Taking place on Saturday and Sunday at Will Rogers Memorial Center, it features more than 20 life-like dinosaurs and tons of great activities like a scavenger hunt, a chance to ride a dinosaur, Cretaceous Crafts, fossil panning and digging for bones, and more.
National Theatre Live presents Peter Pan
When Peter Pan, leader of the Lost Boys, loses his shadow, headstrong Wendy helps him to reattach it. In return, she is invited to Neverland, where Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, and the vengeful Captain Hook await. This wondrously inventive production originally played in London, and will be screened at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Rockin' the River
The weekly Rockin' the River concerts are your opportunity to cool off in the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion and rock out to some great tunes. The penultimate week of the summer series features performances by Zane Williams with Chance Anderson, Randall King Band, Ray Johnston Band, and Aaron Copeland.

Stage West Theatre presents MADE: Music, Arts, Drinks, and Eats
Stage West presents its fourth M.A.D.E., an open-house indoor arts festival featuring local music, arts, drinks, and eats. Enjoy live music on three stages while local artists bring prints and originals of their paintings, photographs, jewelry, and more. There will also be beverages and food from local businesses, HTC Vive Virtual Reality, Party Poet Shae Lynn Shaw, face painting, and backstage tours.
Lone Star Film Society presents Sunday Cinema Series: Wind River
Writer/director Taylor Sheridan has garnered a lot of attention with the first two films he wrote, Sicario and Hell or High Water. For his third film, Wind River, he's also taking the reins as the director to tell the story of an FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen) who teams with a town's veteran game tracker (Jeremy Renner) to investigate a murder that occurred on a Native American reservation. The film screens at Four Day Weekend Theater.
