Based on John Le Carré's novel, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold stars Richard Burton as a dispirited British secret agent pulled out of field operations and ordered to act as an undercover agent behind the Iron Curtain. Burton was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor, and the film won the BAFTA for Best British film.

Special guest Dr. Joan McGettigan has been instrumental in helping select the films for this series and will introduce and offer insights at each of the screenings. Dr. McGettigan is an associate professor in TCU's Bob Schieffer College of Communication, teaching courses in film history and critical film studies.

The film will be followed by Reel People coffee and discussion with Dr. McGettigan.
