The Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival is a merging of two stories that share the message of good and knowledge of Christ’s teachings will prevail over evil. This medieval festival was originally based on an old legend of a student in Oxford, who, while studying in the forest, was attacked by a wild boar. The student used his book, a volume of Aristotle’s works, to slay the boar. When the church adopted this story it became a symbol of good over evil.
