Exciting news is here for Fort Worth folks who "spa" — as a verb. Hiatus Spa + Retreat, an award-winning Dallas-based day spa that offers memberships, will open a location at Crockett Row on West 7th next summer.
The 5,000-square-foot day spa is the first in Fort Worth and joins five other locations, in Dallas, Plano, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.
It will have 14 treatment rooms — including a couple’s suite and hydrotherapy — a nail therapy lounge with four zero-gravity chairs, a relaxation area, and separate men’s and women’s dressing rooms. The space is being designed by Austin-based Karen Kopicki of Kopicki Design and will feature original artwork by Texas artist Jan Heaton.
Hiatus fans swoon the most over its subscription program, called H-Circle. H-Circle members choose one signature “Essential Service” each month, which can include the Signature Massage, Tailor-Made Facial, One & Only Mani-Pedi, Body Glow, or the Body Wrap, according to a release. The membership is $69 per month and also includes special discounted pricing for members on all treatments and 10 percent off all retail products.
While other wellness businesses, such as Massage Envy, offer memberships, Hiatus will be the first Fort Worth spa with a monthly membership program since Facelogic Spa closed its doors abruptly in July 2017.
“We knew Fort Worth needed to be on the map if we wanted to stay true to our passion of being a true Texas brand,” says Hiatus Co-Founder Sheila Garrison in a release. “We are incredibly excited to be opening our sixth location at Crockett Row — the vibrant culture and community there is a perfect fit for Hiatus. We’re bringing high-quality spa services without the high-end price tag so anyone can fit regular spa time into their lifestyle whether they live, work, or play at Crockett Row.“
All 60-minute services at Hiatus include a purifying foot soak ritual and the signature hand and foot massage, along with a sensory journey and customized aromatherapy, the company says.
Premium services include The Yours Truly Massage, customized to the client ($190 for 80 minutes; $139 for H-Circle members); The Perfectionist Facial ($150 for 60 minutes; $109 for H-Circle members); and The Kindred Spirits couples massage in a starlit room ($120 for 60 minutes; $79 for H-Circle members); along with their acclaimed Monthly Retreat — a hybrid massage, scrub, and Vichy shower treatment created each month with seasonal ingredients and finished with a handcrafted cocktail ($195; $139 for H-Circle members).
Hiatus Spa + Retreat was founded in Dallas in 2007 by Garrison and Peabody, along with partner Bill Garrison. The brand has received numerous accolades, including the 2013 Innovate Award from the International Spa Association; and American Spa Magazine's Favorite Day Spa 2016.
The Fort Worth location will open at 2859 Crockett St. in summer 2019.
