Impressive Fort Worth home for sale again, and now it's even better
If you had your eye on 3640 Norfolk Road when it was on the market last July but missed your chance to sign on the dotted line, get ready for some good news: The Westcliff charmer is available once again. And thanks to a number of updates made by the owner, the house is even better than ever. But don’t call it a flip.
“My client purchased the home last summer with the intent to make this his second home here in DFW,” says listing agent Devon Reyes of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty. “But his work elsewhere took a turn that required his more permanent presence. He never got to occupy the property.”
Instead, he entrusted Devon and her husband and business partner, Alberto, with the task of making some improvements to the property to get it ready for market this winter. The finished product is a charming blend of old and new, with surprises to spare.
From the front, the 2,576-square-foot bungalow is sweet but appears relatively modest. Once inside, however — and perhaps even more so, out back — prospective buyers will be wowed by the impressive features. Beautiful beams and thick crown moulding accentuate the family room, along with a marble-framed wood-burning fireplace, large windows, and refinished maple floors (courtesy of the current owner). Dual French doors off the dining space lead onto the back and side patios, while the nearby kitchen boasts granite counters, under-cabinet lighting, and cool industrial pendants over the peninsula.
The downstairs master has not only large walk-in closets but a wall of built-ins perfect for housing a TV and folded clothes. Vaulted ceilings give the sizable room an even larger feel, with more French doors leading to the back patio. An en-suite bathroom benefited from the recent renovations, now impressively finished with a marble tiled walk-in shower and dual sinks. Two more bedrooms and a study downstairs share the home’s second full bath.
The features don’t end there. Head upstairs to find a large bonus space that can serve as guest quarters, with still more room for an extra living area, playroom, or gym. There is a full bath up as well.
But the real shocker is the oasis-like backyard and resort-style covered patio. Come summer, you can enjoy lounging under the shade, shielded from the elements by breezy curtains, as you sip a cocktail from the outdoor bar. Or take a dip in the hot tub or pool (which underwent recent repairs). The newly added lush landscaping only enhances the experience.
Devon admits that the time of year does little to properly demonstrate the fabulous backyard.
“The home’s best selling feature —the resort-like backyard — has yet to be showcased due to the season and cold weather,” she says. But don’t wait for warmer weather to arrive before making a move on this property. “I know that someone will fall in love with the character and charm of the home.”
Located within walking distance of TCU, the asset-packed home is listed for just $545,000 — perhaps the best surprise of all.
