2018 Cliburn Festival: The Music of Russia

The Cliburn will present the 2018 Cliburn Festival: The Music of Russia, a celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Van Cliburn’s historic 1958 International Tchaikovsky Competition victory in Moscow. Each of five concerts will explore a different defining theme of Russian music.

Three Cliburn laureates - Alexander Kobrin (2005 gold medalist), Yury Favorin (2017 finalist), and Georgy Tchaidze (2017 finalist), each of whom hail from Russia - will serve as artists-in-residence and will be joined by the Rolston String Quartet (Luri Lee, violin; Jeffrey Dyrda, violin; Hezekiah Leung, viola; and Jonathan Lo, cello).
