The Blast is an annual, family-friendly walk benefitting Cook Children's Hematology and Oncology Center that raises money to support lifesaving research, technology and programs for children who are fighting cancer.
Cook Children's is part of the fabric of Fort Worth and its surrounding communities. The Blast was started by a little girl 15 years ago to honor a promise she made to her friend who died from cancer. All the money raised from this walk goes directly to the Cook Children's Oncology and Hematology Center to help bring more innovative research, groundbreaking medical treatments and trailblazing clinical trials to children with cancer and blood disorders.
