The Fort Worth African American Roots Music Festival is a celebration of old-time, jug band, string band, early blues, and jazz music, produced by Fort Worth nonprofit Decolonizing the Music Room. It is the first-ever festival in the nation for early American traditional music that is Black-led and Black-centered. The festival was created to broaden the local music scene, put the city on the map among traditional music circles and bring awareness to blackness in American roots music.
The festival will bring artists from around the country together in person for a day of performances, jams, artist conversations, and dancing. Headliners will include Justin Robinson, Kaia Kater, and Jake Blount.
