Kodàly's Dances of Galánta, based on the folk melodies of Hungarian Roma, kicks off the 2021 Gala evening with a festive flair, while Ravel's Boléro has an unmistakable melody that crescendos from a trickle to a roaring waterfall.

The heart of the concert, though, is Dvorak's sensuous violin concerto featuring Sarah Chang. Change launched her solo career at 9 years old with the New York Philharmonic and has matured into one of the most sought-after violinists performing today. She's collaborated with many of the world's finest musicians, and President Barack Obama himself appointed her to the Presidential Commission on Russian Relations, and she has also served as Cultural Envoy for the U.S. State Department. She'll takes the stage at Bass Hall for the first time with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
