Fort Worth-based Trinity River Distillery, the makers of the award-winning Texas Silver Star Whiskey, Texas Silver Star Vodka, and Texas Silver Star Honey Liqueur, is launching its first-ever cornhole tournament. The tournament will feature eight weeks of qualifying rounds and 32 teams per round, with the winning teams competing for the championship on September 23.
Winning teams of each qualifying round will receive $200, eventually advancing to the final tournament where they will go head-to-head in a single-elimination contest for the $2,000 grand prize.
One hundred percent of the fees are donated to the Humane Society of North Texas, and animals will be available for adoption at the Distillery on August 5 and 12, from 4-6 pm. Food trucks will be onsite for every competition Saturday, prepared to feed competitors and spectators all day long.
