Caring charity provides critical safety net for Tarrant County kids

Sometimes kids slip through the cracks, but Gill Children’s Services was founded as a safety net to ensure that Tarrant County children don’t go without the medical, physical, psychological, educational, dental, and social services they need.

Gill Children’s Services isn’t like most organizations that provide for children; it is a self-described “last resort agency.” Only once all the community’s and the family’s resources are spent will a child be referred to Gill. That means that Gill serves those with the greatest need.

Despite its selective nature, Gill is seeing a greater demand for services each day. Yet, since 1979, Gill has remained a saving grace for thousands of Tarrant County youth.

Parents who need help replacing their children’s lost birth certificates, kids with severe dental decay needing surgical intervention, homeless mothers needing help applying for housing, and children requiring special equipment to lead a happy life — these are just a fraction of Gill’s beneficiaries.
