A Texas favorite has plans for a big Cowtown summer concert: Lyle Lovett and His Large Band will perform at Bass Performance Hall on August 23.

Lovett is also performing at Houston's Hobby Center on August 24 and ACL Live at the Moody Theater on August 25.

With a career that spans 14 albums over three decades, Lovett is known for his unique Texas voice, which fuses elements of Americana, swing, jazz, folk, gospel ,and blues, coupled with a gift for storytelling. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, he has won four Grammy Awards and the Americana Music Associations inaugural Trailblazer Award. He also was named Texas State Musician.

Lovett and his longtime love, April Kimble, live north of Houston and take part in charitable activities in Houston and around the state. In February, he was honorary chair of the Texas Ballet Theater Gala honoring artistic director Ben Stevenson's 80th birthday at the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth.

Tickets are available via Bass Hall.
