H&M Store Opening
Crazy popular fast-fashion favorite joins retail ranks at Fort Worth mall

Hot fashion retailer H&M is expanding its presence in Tarrant County, with a store opening in the Ridgmar Mall in Fort Worth on October 22. Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M is known for fashion-forward apparel at crazy affordable prices.
The chain has 19 locations in Texas so far, including eight in the Dallas area and a previously announced location opening in downtown Fort Worth. That store is still under construction in the old Barnes & Noble space across from Bass Performance Hall.
Ridgmar Mall is a major mall on the west side of Fort Worth, anchored by a Dillard's, as well as a Sears, JCPenney, and Macy's. It got a new owner in December 2013 and has a Rave Theater and an Old Navy store, which are both big draws.
In 2017, it will lose its Neiman Marcus store, which is moving to a new open-air development in Fort Worth on the Edwards Ranch property.
The new H&M occupies a 21,000-square-foot space in the center of the mall, taking over what was a series of smaller storefronts (including Zales, which relocated). It will offer a one-stop shopping destination for quality clothing for the whole family, with collections ranging from ladies, men, young ladies, and young men to separate "store within a store" sections for accessories, lingerie, cosmetics, and sports apparel.
The store will also carry H&M's children's collection, from newborn to 14 years old. H&M's emphasis on design, quality, and sustainability offers inspiring, of-the-moment fashion at an unbeatable value. The store will employ about 20 people.
Sustainability is an integral part of H&M initiatives include recycling waste, utilizing water and energy efficient systems, and selecting environmentally responsible materials such as certified wood and fabrics.
H&M was also the largest organic cotton user in the world in 2013, and it is committed to exclusively using organic cotton in all of its collections by 2020. The Ridgmar Mall store will offer the latest in sustainable fashion as part of the fall 2015 collection.
Since opening its store on New York’s Fifth Avenue 15 years ago, the retailer's has enjoyed great success in the United States; there are currently 391 locations across the country, with more on the way.
To celebrate the new store, the H&M at will offer the first 200 shoppers in line an H&M T-shirt and Access to Fashion Pass, valued between $20 and $200, in addition to other surprise offers.
