Tarrant Appraisal District revamps website following technical glitches
The Tarrant Appraisal District, the entity that provides information on appraisal of property in Tarrant County, has revamped its website, to ward off future outages, and is transitioning to a new website with more user-friendly bells and whistles.
According to a release, the update consists of proactive measures to prevent a reoccurrence of recent technical glitches that resulted in the temporary unavailability of the website.
They're also taking the opportunity to transition to a new and improved website.
"The revamp of our website is not just about addressing technical glitches; it's about elevating the overall user experience," says TAD chief appraiser Joe Don Bobbitt. "We recognize that our website serves as a vital touchpoint for our customers, and we are committed to providing them with a modern, user-friendly platform that meets their needs."
The redesigned website will feature a contemporary layout, streamlined navigation, and enhanced functionality, whether users are searching for property information, accessing documents, exploring resources, or just-plain peeking at the value of their neighbors' homes.
This gets kind of geeky, but highlights include:
- A new Category Search feature with 14 categories for more accurate and efficient results.
- Data Fields added to property search and dashboard: Property Search and Dashboard now share an identical view of data fields, with 15 new fields, including specific values, dates, multi-ownership, and agent information.
- Export property data in multiple formats: Users can now export property data in Excel and TXT formats directly from Property Search and Dashboard.
- Request an Online PIN: Responding to high demand, the Online PIN feature is reinstated, allowing users to request a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for self-service and to add properties to their dashboards conveniently.
- Advanced Dashboard Features: Users can now export data, filter by property type, and receive messages related to specific property information such as Online Protests, Value Negotiation, and limited online forms.
- Online Value Negotiation: The updated Online Value Negotiation tool streamlines the taxpayer experience, simplifying the value negotiation and protest process.
"We're excited about the possibilities that our revamped website presents," Bobbitt says. "This initiative aligns with our mission to continuously improve and adapt to the changing needs of our stakeholders."
