If you dream of asking Tony Romo to pass you some wings, then you're the right diner for the Dallas Cowboys Club, a new restaurant opening at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport by global restaurateur HMS Host in partnership with the Dallas Cowboys.
Located at Terminal A, gate 22, the Dallas Cowboys Club is one in a series of similar team-themed restaurants from HMS, says spokesman Sean Matthews. Others include the Minnesota Wild, a hockey-themed restaurant in Minneapolis-St. Paul, and the San Jose Sharks Bar.
But these are not just places to buy a T-shirt and have a beer. "With HMS, our focus these days has been on culinary and customer service," he says. "It's definitely food forward."
The "Texas-inspired" menu includes game-favorite appetizers such as chicken tenders, wings, shrimp skewers, and a chicken quesadilla. Half-pound, grass-fed burgers come in four options, from plain to BBQ to bacon and cheddar.
Sandwiches are priced from $11.99 to $12.99 and include beef and pork tortas and a brisket sandwich with pickles on brioche.
Among the five entrées are chicken with rice, salmon, and a flat-iron steak with chimichurri sauce. Side dishes include baked beans, sweet potato fries, and a slaw made of corn and beans. There's little designated for vegetarians other than a mac and cheese skillet entrée for $12.99. Two of the three salads come with chicken.
Breakfast is served until 10:30 am and includes eggs, French toast, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy with choice of bacon, ham, or pork or turkey sausage.
A full bar includes at least five beers on tap, plus wines, both by the bottle and in two glass options, 6- and 9-ounce.
"This takes the iconic Dallas Cowboys and marries it with iconic food and service that HMS is known for," Matthews says. "We're giving travelers something new and exciting."
