Oak & Eden opens swanky whiskey tasting room at Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth
A new whiskey tasting room has debuted in Fort Worth: Oak & Eden, a Texas whiskey maker and distillery, has opened a tasting room and bar at the Shops at Clearfork, between Plank Seafood Provisions and Toni & Guy.
The location includes a craft cocktail bar, whiskey tastings, and Oak & Eden’s unique "build-your-own-bottle" experience. This is their second outpost; they opened their first in Bridgeport, Texas, in 2021.
Menu offerings include Oak & Eden’s eight permanent whiskies offered neat or on the rocks ($9-$18), and cocktails, including rotating seasonal cocktails exclusive to Clearfork such as:
- Midnight in Eden, featuring butter fat-washed bourbon, plum raisin liqueur, and walnut bitters
- Magnificent Seven, featuring shiitake and artichoke liqueurs, bitters, and smoked herb oil
Sounds delish! Customers can also choose from three tasting flights ($16-$18).
In addition to craft cocktails and light bites, the Clearfork outpost features a Whiskey Library: an elaborate wall with 1,300 bottles of whiskeys created with the brand’s patented In-Bottle Finishing process in which a spire is placed inside the aged whiskey bottle for finishing.
Customers can also participate in a custom bottle building experience that includes choosing the base whiskey, the proof, the wood type, and infusion offering, right there in the library.
The Clearfork location also marks the first time customers can taste any of the 550 infused whiskey variations available in the experience. Exclusive infusions offered only at Clearfork include Creme De Cocoa, Citrus Aperitivo, and Golden Fig liqueur. Once the bottle is built, customers can personalize the label and take it home.
Reservations are required for the bottle build ($90-$120) at Clearfork and can be made at OakandEden.com/clearfork.
The 1,791-square-foot space is outfitted with lavish, yet cozy design elements that include a wraparound bar, lounge, and outdoor patio seating.
Oak & Eden prides itself on traditional distillation, aging their whiskeys for at least three years in American Oak barrels. Instead of putting fully aged whiskey in a second barrel to add more flavor coming naturally from the wood, they break the traditional double barrel aging process, by placing a spire inside each bottle. This spiral-cut piece of oak, fashioned from the same species and treatment as barrel oak, allows Oak & Eden whiskey to "finish" or flavor naturally, producing rich, sweet flavors that could only come from the power of wood.
They're open at the center Monday-Saturday, 11 am-9 pm (but until 11 pm Friday-Saturday).
