A new Dallas-Fort Worth XFL team does not yet have a name, but it has a venue: Globe Life Park in Arlington.

The rebooted XFL, which was announced by owner Vince McMahon in January 2018, has revealed the locations of its eight teams, with both Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston making the list. The league launches the weekend of February 8-9, 2020.

Globe Life Park's current occupants, the Texas Rangers, will move across the street to Globe Life Field that season, leaving plenty of space for the XFL to move in. How a football field and seating for fans will be configured in a stadium meant for baseball has not yet been determined.

The Houston team, meanwhile, will make its home at TDECU Stadium, which hosts the University of Houston football team. The six other teams will be located in Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Seattle, Tampa Bay, and Washington, D.C., with all other stadiums purpose-built for either football or soccer. All teams will play a 10-week regular season schedule, followed by two rounds of playoffs.

Being home to a football team will be another first for the 25-year-old Globe Life Park in Arlington, which also recently announced that will host its first major concert, Paul McCartney, on June 14, 2019.

This is the second go-around for the XFL, which famously flamed out after one season in 2001. The new XFL, led by commissioner and CEO Oliver Luck (father of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck), promises to deliver a fan-centric, innovative experience, including fast-paced games and a family-friendly environment. They also plan to complement the game on the field with cross-platform viewing options and real-time fan engagement.

Even though there are no team names or schedules, season tickets are now available at XFL.com if you're chomping at the bit to bring more football into your life.
