A Juneteenth Comedy Celebration
Among the many Juneteenth festivities happening across DFW is the celebrity-studded Juneteenth Comedy Celebration. The event brings to the stage a powerful comedy lineup featuring D.L. Hughley, Earthquake, Donnell Rawlings, J.J. Williamson, Melanie Comarcho, and Bubba Dub. The event, taking place at Dickies Arena, will be hosted by Nephew Tommy.
Circle Theatre presents A Strange Loop
A Strange Loop offers a bold and exhilarating dive into the life of Usher, a Black queer musical theater writer navigating his identity, creativity, and personal challenges as he crafts a show about his own complex journey. With its raw, adult themes and vital exploration of the queer Black experience, the musical offers a unique blend of song and storytelling that is intensely relevant and important. The production, which won both the Pulitzer Prize and 2022 Tony Award for Best Musical, is making its regional premiere with Circle Theatre. It will run through July 12.
Improv Arlington presents Luenell
Luenell is a force of nature. Best know for her controversial role as the “hooker with the heart of gold” in the blockbuster comedy of 2006 Borat, Luenell is recognized by both mainstream and urban sectors of the population. She's appeared in feature films like I Hate You Dad and Think Like a Man, and also had appearances on TV shows like The Middle and Always Sunny In Philadelphia. She'll perform five times through Saturday at Improv Arlington.
Ballet Concerto presents Summer Dance Concert
Ballet Concerto's Summer Dance Concert will feature a mix of classical and modern ballets, all performed in a unique outdoor setting. Spanish dance master Luis Montero will return to restage his acclaimed Bolero. The event will also feature a contemporary piece by resident choreographer Elise Lavallee, and Jazz Swing by Artistic Director Webster Dean, with choreography by the late Fernando Bujones. There will be four performances through Sunday at The Shops at Clearfork.

Magnolia at the Modern: The Unholy Trinity
A tale of revenge, dark secrets, and buried treasures, The Unholy Trinity is set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana. It picks up in the moments before the execution of Isaac Broadway (Tim Daly), as he gives his estranged son, Henry (Brandon Lessard), an impossible task: murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Intent on fulfilling his promise, Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events traps him in town and leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove (Pierce Brosnan), the town’s upstanding new sheriff, and a mysterious figure named St. Christopher (Samuel L. Jackson). The film screens seven times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
City of Colleyville presents Stars & Guitars
Country band Diamond Rio will be the featured artist at the city of Colleyville's annual Stars & Guitars event. The concert, taking place on the Baseball Fields at City Hall, will feature a variety of food trucks and a fireworks display around 9:15 pm.
Stagewright Productions presents Wilde Women
Lillie Langtry, celebrated British actress and consort to Edward, Prince of Wales, anxiously awaits a telegram in her backstage dressing room from her dear friend, Oscar. With the help of her backstage visitors, she begins to assemble the material for their grand stage comeback, Wilde Women, featuring all the iconic playwright's illustrious ladies, from Cecily to Salome. The production is a solo performance making its world premiere before heading to the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. There will be three performances through Sunday at Walsh Center for Performing Arts on the TCU campus.
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Night of Strings at the Garden: Baroque Reimagined
Baroque meets contemporary as the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra strings revisit the past with a modern twist. Two visionary female composers, Clarice Assad and Caroline Shaw, bookend the program with works that reimagine classical traditions. The program includes Assad’s Suite for Lower Strings, Shaw’s Entr’acte, and Respighi’s Suite No. 3 of Ancient Airs and Dances. The concert will be in the Lecture Hall at Fort Worth Botanic Garden.
Hip Pocket Theatre presents The Billy Club Puppets
A mixture of Commedia del Arte, Flamenco dancing, and puppetry, The Billy Club Puppets (Los títeres de cachiporra) is a poignant farce by Federico Garcia Lorca. Will Rosita marry her love, Cocoliche, or be whisked away by the miserly Don Cristobol? The broad tragi-comedy is told in Lorca's original Spanish with English translations. The production runs through July 13 at Hip Pocket Theatre.
The Band of Heathens in concert
Austin band The Band of Heathens has been building up their music bona fides since their debut album in 2008. The band has dabbled in multiple genres, including rock, country, folk, soul, and more. This wide-ranging musicality has kept them popular with their fanbase, as they've released nine albums in their relatively short career, most recently Simple Things in 2023. They'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Concert on the Lawn at The Carter
The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will present a patriotic lawn party featuring the bold sounds of brass with Sousa marches like The Stars and Stripes Forever, along with classic Broadway tunes, including “Seventy-Six Trombones” from The Music Man and iconic tunes from South Pacific. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks for a night filled with upbeat music and activities at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
William Beckmann in concert
Born and raised in the small border town of Del Rio, Texas, William Beckmann plays classic country and American roots music that was influenced by his early immersion in Mariachi and Norteño music. He delivers evocative, literate tunes, kind of like fellow Del Rio native Radney Foster, who’s helped mentor him since high school. Beckmann has released three albums in his career, most recently Here's to You, Here's to Me in 2023. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Kimbell Art Museum presents "Modern Art and Politics in Germany 1910–1945: Masterworks from The Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin" closing day
Sunday will be the final day to view "Modern Art and Politics in Germany 1910–1945: Masterworks from the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin" at the Kimbell Art Museum, which brings together more than 70 paintings and sculptures from the collection of the Neue Nationalgalerie, Germany’s distinguished modern art museum. It traces the German experience in the visual arts from the last years of the German Empire, World War I, and the liberal Weimar Republic that followed to the rise of National Socialism and Adolf Hitler, the Holocaust, and World War II.
