Weekend Event Planner
These are the 6 best things to do in Fort Worth this weekend
While many events in and around Fort Worth have either been postponed or canceled during the coronavirus pandemic, organizations have pivoted to virtual or socially-distanced events to continue offering the masses some entertainment while we need it the most.
Below are the best ways to spend your free time this weekend. While not every event is out of the house, they all promise to provide a nice distraction from the everyday life.

Fort Worth Community Arts Center presents Kelly Berry: "Landmarks" opening day
The Fort Worth Community Arts Center will present "Landmarks," an exhibition of photographs by Kelly Berry. Berry’s Foodies series explores the people and places of traditional street food and walk-up dining. Although his subject matter could be perceived as transient, there’s no denying the landmark status some of these vendors have with the community. From homemade burgers, street tacos, and snow cones, Berry captures the melding pot of Americana through vibrant colors. His richly saturated images truly serve the big flavor these small cultural spots offer. The exhibition will remain on display through March 20.
The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents FOCUS: Leidy Churchman
The American painter Leidy Churchman presents several new and recent works in this new exhibition at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Drawing on the postmodern idea that no subject is forbidden, Churchman’s imagery is broad and varied, mirroring the sheer abundance and circulation of images today. The paintings treat equally such disparate subjects as animals, landscapes, themes from Tibetan Buddhism, real estate advertisements, and remakes of works by other artists, such as Henri Rousseau and Barbara Kruger. The exhibition will remain on display through March 21.
Magnolia at the Modern: No Man's Land
No Man’s Land is a drama set on the border of Texas and Mexico that delves into issues of immigration, family, and cultures through a straight-up chase-thriller. The film gives audiences a nuanced look at life along the border while not taking sides and turns a lens on life in Mexico that’s rarely seen in a U.S. film. The film will screen five times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Kolby Cooper in concert
Country singer Kolby Cooper came out of the East Texas town of Palestine just three years out of high school, with no label or industry machine in place. Since then, his songs have garnered millions of streams on Spotify, solidifying him as a voice of the future for Texas country music. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas in support of his 2020 EP, Vol. 2.

Evil Dead with Live Commentary by Bruce Campbell
Actor Bruce Campbell will host a worldwide virtual viewing of the 1981 Sam Raimi classic, Evil Dead, with live commentary throughout by the star himself. Viewers can watch the film with Campbell as he shares memories, stories, and anecdotes from the film, and for a few lucky viewers, Campbell will even answer questions from the chat.
Scotty McCreery in concert
In the history of American Idol, there is a clear hierarchy for successful singers the show has produced. At the top is Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Adam Lambert. Tenth season winner Scotty McCreery is in the second tier, but if he has a few more hit albums — his 2018 album, Seasons Change, was his third to go to No. 1 — he's liable to join that top group. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.
