2016 Thin Line Festival
The annual Thin Line is a film, music, and photography festival held through Sunday in multiple venues around Denton. Thin Line delivers an engaging program of high-quality documentary films, world-class music, and a diverse selection of photography. Event venues include Campus Theatre, UNT on the Square, Golden Triangle Mall, Rubber Gloves Studio, and Dan's Silverleaf.
2016 Cliburn Festival
The Cliburn Festival is a new event designed to examine different perspectives in music. Taking place Thursday through Sunday, it features five events at five locations: Americana at Van Cliburn Recital Hall, Jazz at the Scat Jazz Lounge, Musical Theater at Four Day Weekend Theater, Hollywood at Amon Carter Museum of American Art, and Classics at Kimbell Art Museum.
Arlo Guthrie: Alice’s Restaurant 50th Anniversary Tour
Legendary folk music icon Arlo Guthrie has been on tour for the past 18 months, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the event that inspired his seminal song, "Alice's Restaurant Massacree." Guthrie performs his most prominent work in its entirety at Bass Performance Hall on Thursday, as well as selections from every full-length studio album he's released since his 1967 debut, Alice's Restaurant.

Lonesome Dove retrospectives
It's been 30 years since Larry McMurtry won the Pulitzer Prize for his most well-known book, Lonesome Dove. To commemorate that milestone and the subsequent mini-series, Fort Worth hosts two separate retrospectives: Bullets and Bustles: Costumes of Lonesome Dove at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, and Bill Wittliff: Photographs from Lonesome Dove at the Cattle Raisers Museum, inside the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Both remain on display through April 17.
Performing Arts Fort Worth presents Blue Man Group
Blue Man Group seems to visit the Dallas-Fort Worth area almost every year, but they're always worth checking out again. Playing at Bass Performance Hall Friday through Sunday, the quirky group blends together performance art, rock music, comedy, and audience participation for a unique show that can't help but make you smile.
Improv Arlington presents Jay Pharoah
Saturday Night Live has churned out more than its fair share of comedy stars over the past 40 years, and Jay Pharoah has cemented his place on that list over the past five years. Pharoah is mostly known for his wide array of uncanny celebrity impressions, including Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington, and Kanye West. He shows some of those and other funny things during his five shows Friday through Sunday at the Improv Arlington.
