Two major retailers are opening locations in Fort Worth: According to a release, Pottery Barn and West Elm will join the retail mix at Westbend, the 281,000-square-foot mixed-use community on Fort Worth’s University Drive.
Pottery Barn is relocating its existing Fort Worth store to Westbend. West Elm is returning to the city with a new location.
Situated along the Trinity River and Trinity Trails system, the brands will operate side-by-side in a ground-floor retail space below 60,000 square feet of office. The stores are scheduled to open in May 2026.
Owned by Williams-Sonoma, Inc., both home furnishings brands will occupy the former Market by Macy’s store, taking a combined 22,126 square feet at the property. With this deal, Westbend’s retail is now 100 percent leased.
“At Westbend, introducing elevated concepts that integrate seamlessly with the ethos of the property has always been a focus, and the addition of Pottery Barn and West Elm perfectly represents this initiative,” said Daniel Goldware, Vice President of Leasing at Trademark. “We are excited to expand Williams-Sonoma, Inc.’s presence within Trademark’s portfolio with this unique deal, which brings two of the biggest home furnishings brands to the heart of Fort Worth’s top retail district.”
Pottery Barn is a premier specialty retailer for casual, comfortable and stylish home furnishings including furniture, bedding, bath, rugs, window treatments, tabletop, lighting and decorative accessories.
West Elm was launched in 2002 and offers a modern approach to furniture and home decor. The West Elm at Westbend will be the brand’s 10th location in Texas.
The brands join a vibrant collection of retail, F&B, and lifestyle tenants, including Bluemercury, Indochino, Johnnie-O, Mod + Jo, Rowan, The Shade Store, Tyler’s, Warby Parker, Sweetgreen, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, Shake Shack, CorePower Yoga, Woodhouse Spa, and Drybar.
Trademark redeveloped Westbend’s first phase in 2016, and is embarking on the second phase of the property with the construction of Westbend Residences, a 321-unit multifamily development featuring 4,500 square feet of restaurant space sited on 3.5 acres along the Trinity River at 1701 S. University Dr. The plan also features an enhanced trailhead and public amenities, such as a bike repair station, public art, and outdoor gathering space.
Trademark’s mixed-use, retail, and institutional services portfolio includes Galleria Dallas, Lincoln Square, Left Bank, Westbend and Alliance Town Center in Dallas-Fort Worth; Market Street – The Woodlands in The Woodlands (Houston); La Palmera Mall in Corpus Christi, Texas; Zona Rosa in Kansas City, Missouri; Annapolis Town Center in Annapolis, Maryland; North Point Mall in Alpharetta (Atlanta); Legacy Place in Palm Beach Gardens (Florida); and Perkins Rowe in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The company is also underway on several multifamily projects, including The Vickery in Fort Worth and Westbend Residences.
