A Victorian mansion masterpiece in Colleyville with a long and storied history is selling off everything inside — and the house itself is up for grabs, too.
The home is a stunning Queen Anne mansion which began its life in 1895 in Bonham before being relocated to Colleyville, where it has been a destination for home tours and other civic events. It also served as a backdrop for a Reba McEntire music video in 1987, as well as several magazine shoots.
The property has been meticulously cared for by owner Joan Vandergriff, who purchased the home in 1985 and oversaw its transport from its original address in Bonham to its current address at 5317 Bluebonnet Dr., where it offers an incredible legacy to the community.

Vandergriff, who also once owned a health shop in Colleyville, had its 110 pier foundation relocated from Bonham to Colleyville with nary a window damaged. Workers spent three months cutting the house from its foundation before loading the sawed halves onto flatbed trucks. According to FW magazine, it took two weeks "and some creative routing" for the wide convoy to travel just 80 miles.
Designed by American architect George Franklin Barber, the home was a gift from Dr. Robert E. Lee Kincaid to his wife Kate. Constructed "from the finest materials" at a cost of $2,425, it boasts a foyer, plus eight rooms, each featuring a focal fireplace with original tile topped by an elaborate mirrored mantelpiece of dark oak. Dr. Kincaid's original office overlooks two gazebos outdoors.
Hardwood floors and carved Victorian ornamentation are original, as is a beadboard butler's pantry, but a clever kitchen Hoosier cabinet conceals a refrigerator and other modern appliances.

The original lumber receipts hang in the foyer of this historic home, paying homage to the Kincaid family’s dedication to quality. The Kincaid family of Bonham had close ties to former House Speaker Sam Rayburn and entertained often with the home serving as a brilliant showplace.
The home is a three story, 4,854 square foot house (not counting the attic). The home has a round turret, six gables, 12‘ ceilings, five bedrooms, three bathrooms, parlor, butler’s pantry and multiple antique stained glass windows throughout. One window in particular, located on the east side of the stairwell, was approximately 100 years old when the Kincaid family installed it in their new house.
Vandergriff was intent on staying true to the history of the home. With a few modern conveniences added, the house is in much of its original condition. Upon completion of the renovation, she set about the task of furnishing her home with period antiques. All of the home’s antiques and furnishings will be for sale.
