When things get hot, there's only one thing to do: dive in. Water is the best way to beat the heat, and fortunately, Fort Worth has plenty of splashy venues to get wet and cool down — some of which are opening this Memorial Day weekend.
Here's the best waterparks to hit in Fort Worth during summer 2025:
Burgers Lake
Located just south of Lake Worth, Burgers Lake claims to be America's oldest waterpark, having been established all the way back in 1929. It's a large, 20-foot-deep pool surrounded by sand and grass. Visitors can swim, go down slides, jump off diving boards located on the side and middle of the lake, or splash down from a rope swing. There's also shady trees, charcoal grills for cooking, bounce balloons, volleyball courts, a kids splash pad, and more. Opens for the season on May 24; season runs through September 2. Open daily from 9 am-7 pm. $20 per person for day pass; $150 per person for season pass.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
The biggest waterpark in Dallas-Fort Worth, located in Arlington, features 12 thrill rides, most notably Der Stuka, a free fall slide that's not for the faint of heart. New for the 2025 season is Splash Island, a multi-level interactive play structure with a 1,000-gallon tipping bucket, colorful water slides, cabanas, and more for families to enjoy. With a lazy river, Surf Lagoon, multiple other slides for less adventurous people, and more, there are plenty of options to keep visitors busy all day long. Opens for the season on May 24; season runs through September 1. Open daily at 11 am; closing time varies by day. $20 and up for daily passes when purchased online; season passes start at $65.
Hawaiian Falls Waterparks
Back in 2023, the two Hawaiian Falls Waterparks in the Dallas area changed their names to Hawaiian Waters. The two locations closest to Fort Worth - Roanoke and Mansfield - mysteriously did not, although they offer many of the same types of rides. The Roanoke location features more thrill rides, including Tsunami, The Rush, and Beach Blasters, but both have a lazy river, wave pool, interactive play structure, and more. Opens at 10:30 am daily through August 12; closing time varies by day. Limited openings August 15 through September 20 (September 14 for Roanoke). $20.99 and up for day passes; $49.99 and up for season pass.
NRH2O
Located in North Richland Hills and featuring the best name of any area waterpark, NRH2O also some pretty cool ride names. Their thrill rides include Riggamaroll, Accelerator, and Thunder, but the innocuously-named Sidewinder hits the hardest as it starts with a 60-foot free fall. Calmer waters await at Beachside Bay, Frogstein's Splashatory, and the Endless River, or you can get a bit of both in the NRH2Ocean wave pool. Open daily at 11 am through August 10; open weekends August 16-September 27. $15.99-$37.99 for day pass; $59.99 and up for season pass.
Splash Dayz
Hawaiian Falls used to have a location in White Settlement, but the city took it over in 2016 and renamed it Splash Dayz. The rides may not be plentiful - there are only five slides - but they measure up to those at other waterparks, including the free fall Atomic Wedgiez, fully enclosed Blackout, six-lane Splash Speedway, and more. Naturally, they also have a splash pool, lazy river, and wave pool, along with cabanas and other private seating areas. Open daily at 11 am through August 10 (closed on Mondays). Open on weekends August 16-September 7. $25.99-$29.99 for day pass; $74.99-$79.99 for season pass.
Great Wolf Lodge Water Park
Indoor waterpark fun can be found in Grapevine at Great Wolf Lodge, and it has a little bit of everything to offer. Options include thrill rides like Coyote Cannon and Howlin' Tornado, family-friendly areas like Fort Mackenzie and the Crooked Creek lazy river, an outdoor lagoon, and two hot springs - one for adults and one for families. Open 10 am-8 pm Monday-Friday, 9 am-8 pm Saturday and Sunday. $35 and up for day pass; $29.75 and up for half-day pass.
City waterparks
In addition to the standard swimming pools at city recreation centers, many cities in area have smaller waterpark options that include slides, lazy rivers, splash areas, and more. Among the options are Marine Park Pool & Aquatic Center in Fort Worth, the Euless Family Life Aquatic Park, the Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center in Arlington, and Chisholm Aquatics Center in Hurst.
