Solar Car Challenge

The 2025 Solar Car Challenge will host 27 high school-age teams from across the country, including 13 from Texas. The Challenge sees about 300 teenagers, who have built their solar cars from the ground up over the past year or longer, race around Texas Motor Speedway for four days, with the winning team in each category having traveled the greatest distance.

Spectators are invited to watch the race from Texas Motor Speedway’s infield. Enter through the South tunnel. Spectators must wear closed-toed shoes and wide-brimmed hats.
