The Dallas Symphony Orchestra will present the second annual Circle T Ranch Music Festival. The festival, planned in partnership with the Perot family, features a three-day concert series to take place on an expansive outdoor stage. Audiences can enjoy both contemporary and classical music as well as a modern bluegrass music performance on the scenic Ranch grounds.
The festival will kick off with The Steep Canyon Rangers on Friday, November 18. The group has become the most recognizable modern name in bluegrass music, most notably due to their frequent partnership with comedian and banjoist Steve Martin.
Music Director Fabio Luisi will make his Circle T Music Festival debut on Saturday, November 19 as he and the DSO present an afternoon concert of light classics, including Viennese polkas and waltzes such as the Blue Danube.
On Sunday, November 20, Dallas Symphony Assistant Conductor Maurice Cohn will lead a program of Americana music. The concert will feature the sounds of American and American-influenced composers as well as works with influences and styles of the many cultures that make up the United States.
Along with performances, the family-friendly festival will feature food trucks and a number of pre-concert activities for everyone in the family, ranging from face-painting to instrument demonstrations.
