"Fragments of Memory" is a solo exhibition of works by Texas-based artist Amy Twomey. Twomey’s paintings draw from the familiar symbols and emotional landscapes of Texas life, weaving together storytelling, memory, and place. Her compositions layer imagery into visually rich surfaces that gesture toward both personal narrative and collective experience.

Over time, her work has shifted and deepened, reflecting a practice defined by intuition and a commitment to painting on her own terms. Though her paintings appear cohesive and intentional, they develop through a deeply internal process, with Twomey often describing entering a trance-like state while working, allowing imagery to emerge organically rather than through analysis.

As a human, she creates these symbols, drawn from daily experiences and translates them so viewers can interpret on their own terms. They may recognize fragments of their own lives including objects, places, and moments that carry memory and a sense of home. "Fragments of Memory" reflects North Texas itself: its rhythms, quiet beauty, and lived experience.

The exhibit will be on view through March 21.
