Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony takes us on a passionate journey from self-doubt to triumph, embracing in a moment of inner repose the slow movement’s famous, wistful, horn solo. Also on the program are Bernstein’s jazzy Dance Episodes from On the Town, Barber’s majestic Second Essay, and Cindy McTee’s exhilarating Double Play.
