The Art Galleries at TCU will present "It's Like This," the 2026 Masters of Fine Art Candidacy Exhibition, showcasing the work of TCU’s second-year MFA candidates: Colby Edward Kohn, Kylie Nash, Gretchen Stark, and Sam Sheath.
Spanning four distinct bodies of work, "It’s Like This" comprises sculpture, installation, painting, drawing and photography.
Sheath presents sculptural works conceptually situated in the landscape involving appropriated material, and large-scale sculpture and installation.
Stark’s modular cut-paper installation combines both painting and drawing in response to resilience in the face of political violence.
Kohn’s large-format tableaux photographs recreate violent human encounters through scale model-built miniatures.
Nash completes the exhibition with a series of saturated paintings featuring women shown from behind, surveying a scene; a compositional device known as the Rückenfigur which Nash explores in response to emotion held within the female body.
Following the opening reception, the exhibition will be on view through February 21.
