"American Sublime" is Tom Judd's first solo exhibition at J. Peeler Howell Fine Art. The work is a continuation of his fascination with, and exploration of, nostalgia and reimagined imagery and iconography of Americana.
Judd’s work recognizes and confronts the passage of time as things long familiar in the collective American consciousness inevitably fade into legend and lore. Yet, he uniquely and ironically succeeds at capturing, documenting, and preserving this ephemera.
Judd grew up in Salt Lake City and then attended the Philadelphia College of Art. His work is in major collections including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Pennsylvania Academy of Art, and the Birmingham Museum of Art.
The exhibition will remain on display through March 22.
