Five years ago on November 1, Sundance Square opened a one-acre plaza following decades of planning and 18 months of construction. Now, the 35-block entertainment and shopping destination is preparing to celebrate with a “Five & Funky” celebration.
Sundance Square will start the “Five & Funky” festivities on November 1 with a pep rally in the plaza to kick off the 2018-19 TCU Men’s and Women’s basketball season. There will be music well as appearances by the TCU basketball teams, coaches, Showgirls, marching band, and SuperFrog.
On November 2, the party continues in Sundance Square Plaza at 5:30 pm with Fort Worth’s renowned comedy troupe Four Day Weekend taking the main stage for a brief show as the team temporarily changes its name to “Five Day Weekend” in honor of the anniversary. Then Le Freak, billed as “the greatest disco band in the world” will perform from 6-9 pm on the Plaza Stage.
Throughout the day, Sundance Square will pick random people shopping in Sundance Square to receive $5 Sundance Square gift cards.
