Texas Ballet Theater 2024-25 season to pair classics with world premiere

Dallas-Fort Worth nonprofit ballet company Texas Ballet Theater has unveiled its 2024-25 season with four major productions that range from a revered holiday classic to a world premiere.

Founded in 1961, the TBT is the only arts organization to serve as a resident company in two cities and two venues: AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas and Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth.

The four productions are as follows:

Cinderella
September 13-15 at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth; September 20-22 at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas
This beloved story of love triumphant is choreographed to the mesmerizing score of Sergey Prokofiev, promising a performance of unparalleled beauty and grace.

The Nutcracker
November 29-December 8 at Winspear Opera House; December 13-29 at Bass Performance Hall
Holiday staple with Tchaikovsky's iconic score will be choreographed by TBT artistic director laureate Ben Stevenson, O.B.E. with presenting sponsor, Akin.

International Woman
February 21-23, 2025 at Bass Performance Hall; February 28-March 2 at Wyly Theatre in Dallas
Mixed repertoire production is a groundbreaking celebration of female creativity and choreography, dedicated entirely to female choreographers. Featured ballets include:

  • Shibuya Blues, choreographed by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa
  • Lamentation Variations, inspired by choreographer Martha Graham
  • Maple Leaf Rag, choreographed by Graham
  • Jabula, choreographed by Natalie Weir, through the music of Hans Zimmer’s The Power of One

Giselle
May 2-4, 2025 at Bass Performance Hall; May 16-18, 2025 at Winspear Opera House
Season closer will be a world premiere with TBT’s artistic director Tim O’Keefe adapting the well-known tale of the trusting peasant maid with his own interpretation, set to composition by Adolphe Adam.
