6 affluent Dallas-Fort Worth cities cash in as the richest in Texas
Forget Beverly Hills. Move over, Manhattan. These DFW cities are cashing in as the richest in Texas for 2020.
On the heels of a Zillow report that crowned Westlake a "million-dollar city," a new list from data provider HomeSnacks ranks six spots in North Texas among the 10 richest places in the state with at least 5,000 residents.
The company analyzed four factors to arrive at that conclusion: poverty rate, median household income, and unemployment rate, as well as “where the richest of the rich live.”
Highland Park takes the No. 3 spot statewide, jumping significantly from No. 25 in 2019. The affluent Dallas neighbor boasts a median household income of $207,019, an unemployment rate of 2.3 percent, and a poverty rate of 2.7 percent.
At No. 4 is the city of Melissa, located in Collin County, with a median household income of $113,532. Following it is Trophy Club, No. 6, with a median household income of $142,483.
Perhaps surprisingly, the Parker County town of Willow Park — unrated last year — came in at higher than Southlake, at No. 7, with a median household income of $119,511.
The final two North Texas cities on the list are Tarrant County's Southlake, No. 8, with an income of $230,700, and its neighbor Coppell, No. 10, with an income of $123,802.

It boasts a median household income of $175,913, a 1.2 percent unemployment rate, and a 0.7 percent poverty rate, according to HomeSnacks.
