1. Whiskey Cake restaurant to open in Fort Worth's hottest neighborhood. A restaurant named for its sticky toffee-cake signature dessert is coming to Fort Worth: Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar, an American tavern concept from Dallas hospitality company FB Society, will open its first location in Tarrant County at 2849 Heritage Trace Pkwy. in the Alliance Town Center in buzzy North Fort Worth.
2. Stoner sandwich shop Cheba Hut to open location near UT Arlington. A fun stoner-themed sandwich shop is blazing into downtown Arlington: Cheba Hut, the Colorado-based sub shop chain, is opening at 504 E. Abram St., in a former Jimmy John's, across the street from Division Brewing.
3. Diner dishing out Philly cheesesteaks debuts in north Fort Worth. A new restaurant slinging Philly cheesesteaks has debuted in north Fort Worth: Called Philly Dave’s, it’s now open at 5500 N. Tarrant Pkwy., in the former Stevie’s Diner space, which sadly closed in April after 13 years.
4. U.S. News ranks 3 Fort Worth hospitals among best in Texas. Fort Worth's Baylor Scott and White All Saints Medical Center has landed as the No. 11 best hospital in Texas, and No. 3 in Dallas-Fort Worth, according to U.S. News & World Report. Nine other DFW hospitals also ranked in the top 30.
