Sweet Apple Productions presents Children of a Lesser God
Children of a Lesser God focuses on the conflicted professional and romantic relationship between Sarah Norman, a former student and now maid at a State School for the Deaf, and James, the new speech therapist there. Sweet Apple Productions will present five performances of the play through Sunday at Stage West Theatre.

Magnolia at the Modern: Oscar-Nominated Short Films
For the 19th consecutive year, Shorts HD and Magnolia Pictures will present the Oscar-nominated short films in both the Animated and Live Action categories. The two categories will alternate screenings over the next two weekends, with 13 screenings through March 3 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. This year's Academy Awards take place on Sunday, March 10.
Improv Arlington presents Adele Givens
Adele Givens shined as a member of The Queens of Comedy. She has worked with noted comedians such as Sinbad, Damon Wayans, and Martin Lawrence. Her TV credits include The Steve Harvey Show, Tracey Takes On, Moesha, Martin, HBO's Def Comedy Jam, and Showtime at the Apollo. She'll perform five times through Sunday at Improv Arlington.
Kathy Mattea in concert
Country singer Kathy Mattea is celebrating her 40th anniversary as a recording artist, with her self-titled debut album coming out in 1984. She reached her peak in the late '80s/early '90s with a string of 15 straight top 10 hits, including the No. 1 songs "Goin' Gone," "Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses," "Come from the Heart," and "Burnin' Old Memories." She'll play at Arlington Music Hall.
Stolen Shakespeare Guild presents Much Ado About Nothing
As part of its annual Stolen Shakespeare Festival, Stolen Shakespeare Guild will present Much Ado About Nothing, a witty and charming battle of the sexes. One of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies is filled with romance, highlighting comedic hijinks and Shakespeare’s wittiest dialogue. The production will play in repertory with The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet through March 10 at Arts Fort Worth.
Texas Ballet Theater presents Brilliants
Brilliants is a mixed repertoire production featuring four shorter ballets in one program. The featured ballets include Rubies, choreographed by George Balanchine; Grand Pas Classique, choreographed by Victor Gsovsky; Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, choreographed by Rudolf Nureyev, and Without Borders, choreographed by Val Caniparoli and originally created on the company in 2016. There will be four performances through Sunday at Bass Performance Hall.
Hyena's presents Jon Stringer
Jon Stringer was born in the early '80s as the youngest of three children. Perhaps expectedly, he developed into an incurable attention seeker with a gift for making people laugh. A self-described "late bloomer," Stringer would only discover his passion for stand-up comedy on his 30th birthday. He can be heard regularly on I Heart Radio as well as be seen on Netflix (Chingo Bling's They Can't Deport Us). He'll perform four times through Saturday at Hyena's Comedy Club.

Fort Worth Opera presents dwb (Driving While Black)
After two performances last weekend of dwb (Driving While Black), Fort Worth Opera will move to Kimbell Art Museum for one more on Saturday. The production is a montage of poetic and haunting moments examining the trials and triumphs Black mothers experience as their children come of age in a society plagued by racism and inequality. In the central narrative, we meet the Mother in her home. The dangerous world outside, however, is out of the Mother’s control, and anxiety builds in her mind and heart as her “beautiful brown boy” approaches manhood and the realities of modern life as a Black person in America.
Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth presents "Curtis on Tour"
The legendary Curtis Institute of Music has graduated some of the most gifted musicians touring today. Two of them - violinists Ben Beilman and Milena Pajaro van de Stadt - will join the next generation of Curtis grads for a diverse program featuring Brahms' Sextet no. 2 in G major; Strauss' Sextet from Capriccio, Op. 85; and Berg's Piano Sonata in B minor, Op. 1. The performance will be at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Monster Energy AMA Supercross
The world’s best two-wheel racers converge on Arlington for one night of non-stop action. In addition to the motocross races, the event will feature the final two rounds of the Monster BMX Triple Challenge, comprised of the best BMX Freestyle riders in the world, and a Fanfest, with activities including a video game rig, pump track, toy play tables, and exhibitions. The event takes place at AT&T Stadium.
Kin Faux in concert
Texas country music band Kin Faux has been racking up the accolades at the Texas County Music Awards in recent years, winning band of the year in 2021, single of the year in 2022, and Entertainer of the Year in 2023. Their road to Texas domination continues this weekend as they make their debut at Billy Bob's Texas in support of their 2023 EP, Cheaper Than the Truth.
