Where to shop in Fort Worth right now: 5 stores to spend some mad money
There are changes afoot in the Fort Worth shopping scene, from openings to spring sales. Swing by these five stores this month — but don’t blame us when the credit card bill comes in.
Belk
The Southern department store opened in Euless on March 9. Brands include Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Calvin Klein, Lucky, Jessica Simpson, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, and Dior.
Calloway’s Nursery
Spring is a time for planting, and those with a green thumb — or hoping to develop one — have yet another place to dig up deals and expertise on flowers and shrubbery. Fort Worth-based Calloway’s has two new locations as of this month, in Mansfield and in northern Fort Worth, on North Tarrant Parkway.
The Modern
The annual spring clearance sale has returned to the uber-cool Modern Shop, housed inside the the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Customers can shop a wide variety of merchandise — coffee table books, prints, and art-inspired gifts — at prices up to 75 percent off. Stop in Monday through Thursday, 10 am-5 pm, and Friday, 10 am-8 pm, for the best deals.
PalletSmart
PalletSmart, the Fort Worth carpentry shop known for furniture and decor made from upcycled wood pallets, opened its first public shop this month. Although the brand gained fame for its larger furniture pieces seen at popular Fort Worth spots like Rahr Brewery, Cane Rosso, and Fred’s, it now offers smaller items such as planter boxes, trays, and bird houses.
Tyler’s Fort Worth
New to the WestBend development, Austin import Tyler’s brings a touch of the state capital’s style to Fort Worth. The store is stocked with a variety of trendy merchandise, as well as athletic and skate gear, from brands such as Roxy, Hurley, Toms, Nike, Birkenstock, and Minnetonka. Tyler’s also has a location in Southlake Town Square.
