Fashion and home decor lovers will soon have one more storefront to frequent. A new women’s fashion, gift, and home goods store called Feathers will open at 2621 Whitmore St., in the Foundry District, in January.

Born from Leslie Harding Distler, the former buyer at Leddy’s Ranch in Sundance Square, Feathers will sell Western wear, women’s clothes in all sizes (including some plus sizes), jewelry, accessories, and home decor and furnishings.

“The style is a mix of comfortable, rugged, tomboy, and sexy,” Distler says. “It’s like an exquisite blouse you can wear with jeans — casual with an edge.”

Most of the products Distler discovered through her extensive travels, and others, such as Texas-based Tres Chicas jewelry, she found through local connections.

In 2012, Distler started the interior design and fashion consulting firm Les Is More; Feathers will now serve as a modest showroom for furniture and home decor, which can be purchased solo or in conjunction with design services from Distler.

“I was born with a talent to be able to redo anyone’s home with what they already have,” she says. “That grew into buying new pieces and finishing a home out from start to finish. So, now I’m putting everything under one roof.”

Need a hostess gift or birthday present? Carved wood pieces, pottery, glassware, candles, soaps, dishes, and more will also be sold.

Feathers will join City Surf Fitness, Leonard’s Department Store Museum, M&O Burger, and Cowtown Marathon in the redevelopment of the Foundry District, just north of West 7th Street.

During a grand opening celebration on January 20, Feathers will donate a portion of proceeds to the Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation, which aims to conquer depression and prevent suicide.

Feathers will be open from 10 am to 6 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, and 12 pm to 5 pm on Sunday.
