hi, neighbors!
Fort Worth community lands on list of top-10 friendliest American neighborhoods
Homebuyers and families yearn for tight-knit communities with neighbors that will look out for each other, and one Fort Worth neighborhood is getting credit for going above and beyond to fulfill that role: the friendly neighborhood of South Hills.
South Hills hits the spotlight via a new report from home improvement services website All Star Home, which named the locale the No. 10 most friendly American neighborhood.
The study determined its rankings based on how many positive Google reviews businesses received in 200 of the most-viewed city neighborhoods on Zillow in 2022.
According to the findings, 14.56 percent of Google reviews for South Hills-based businesses were described as "friendly."
The affluent Fort Worth community is situated above I-20, and is bordered by Granbury Road, West Seminary Drive, and the east side of McCart Avenue. The neighborhood is known for the beautiful Kellis Park and Stephens Park, and for its proximity to the Fort Worth Central Business District.
The South Hills Neighborhood Association hosts annual chili cook offs, pie night meetings, and other social gatherings for neighbors to get to know each other, according to the association's Facebook page.
All Star Home also took a deep dive into the friendliest well-known businesses and retailers across the U.S. Several of the chains and big-box stores that are considered the friendliest have a presence in South Hills, including the UPS Store, Starbucks, and more.
"Some trends emerged when [digging] into data for ten business types: Coffee shops, dry cleaners, and pharmacies ruled the top 10 friendliest list," the report said. "On the other hand, banks barely made it, and post offices got left off the list entirely."
Elsewhere in the report is Fort Worth's Wedgewood and Summerfields neighborhoods, which respectively ranked No. 125 and No. 153 out of a total 200 cities. Only 9.84 percent of reviews for Wedgewood-area businesses were described as "friendly," in comparison to Summerfields' 8.98 percent.
