Andy's Frozen Custard to chill north Fort Worth with ice cream treats

Andy's Frozen Custard
Frozen custard is coming to north Fort Worth via Andy's Frozen Custard, a Missouri-based dessert chain, which is opening a restaurant at 1725 Basswood Blvd., in a new building west of I-35W that happens to be right around the corner from a Jeremiah's Italian Ice.
According to a release, it'll open on July 30, with a grand opening celebration set for August 8.
Andy’s was founded by John and Carol Kuntz in Missouri in 1986 who named it for their son. There are currently 177 company-owned and franchised stores across 15 states.
“Fort Worth is a city with deep roots, strong community values, and appreciation for tradition - qualities that align closely with Andy’s,” says the very Andy Kuntz for whom the chain was named, and who is now CEO and owner, in a statement.
Their menu centers on vanilla and chocolate frozen custard which can be transformed into concretes, shakes, malts, sundaes, and what they call "hands-free products" like floats, Freezes, and iced tea. Really, you don't need hands for those?
They've also introduced a new "Andy’s Soda Shoppe" to capitalize on the current obsession for beverages such as "dirty" sodas and cherry limeades.
They also offer limited-time summer flavors such as
- peach concrete and sundae with peaches
- peach dream concrete with vanilla custard, malt, and crème caramel
- Key lime pie concrete with Key lime pie folded into vanilla custard
The release says that Andy’s makes its frozen custard fresh hourly, and bakes treats such as Grandma Elaine’s shortcake and brownies in-store. Customers can also grab a pint or quart.
They offer drive-thru or walk-up service with an outdoor patio in front.
There are 30 Andy's Frozen Custard locations in Dallas-Fort Worth, and this will be the third in Fort Worth proper, following locations at 5100 N. Tarrant Pkwy. and 5328 McPherson Blvd.
