Broadway at the Bass: Les Misérables
Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice, and redemption — a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Featuring the thrilling score and beloved songs “I Dreamed A Dream,” “On My Own,” “Stars," “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More,” and many more, the musical will play at Bass Performance Hall through June 30.
Levitt Pavilion presents Family Movie Night: Dumplin'
Dumplin’ follows an outspoken plus-sized teenage girl named Willowdean (Danielle Macdonald), who’s known as Will to her friends and Dumplin’ to her mother (Jennifer Aniston), a former beauty queen. When Will decides to enter her mother’s pageant in protest, her bold move encourages other contestants to follow in her footsteps. The movie is based on the book written by Arlington resident Julie Murphy, who will be on hand at Levitt Pavilion in Arlington to sign copies of her books immediately following the movie. The first 100 guests will receive an Arlington Highlands gift card.
Sundance Square presents Movie Nights: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
No, this isn't a misprint: After screening last week in Arlington, one of the best movies of 2018 — Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse — will screen in Sundance Square Plaza. A New York teen named Miles Morales struggles with school, friends, and, on top of that, being the new Spider-Man. He crosses paths with five counterparts from other dimensions, and they join forces to stop a threat for all realities.

Magnolia at the Modern: The Souvenir
In The Souvenir, a shy film student (Honor Swinton Byrne) begins finding her voice as an artist while navigating a turbulent courtship with a charismatic but untrustworthy man (Tom Burke). She defies her protective mother (Tilda Swinton) and concerned friends as she slips deeper and deeper into an intense, emotionally fraught relationship that comes dangerously close to destroying her dreams. The film will screen seven times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Concerts in the Garden: The Music of Pink Floyd
The second-to-last weekend of Concerts in the Garden will kick off with The Music of Pink Floyd, one of the most successful bands in the history of popular music. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and a full rock band will bring back some of the band’s classics from iconic albums like Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Animals, and more. The concert takes place at Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

There are lots of husband-and-wife duos who exemplify #CouplesGoals, but Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis belong near the top of any list. They have been married for 22 years, raised four children together, and supported each other's careers, which have included four collaborative albums, including Beautiful Lie, which was just released on June 10. They'll play at Haltom Theater in Haltom City.
Midland in concert
The country band Midland surprisingly didn't come out of Midland, Texas, but rather Dripping Springs, just outside of Austin. Named instead after the Dwight Yoakam song "Fair to Midland," the group has already made a big mark on country music, hitting No. 2 with their debut album, On the Rocks, which yielded the hit songs "Drinkin' Problem" and "Burn Out." They'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Concerts in the Garden: The Music of Queen
The music of Queen is as popular as ever, thanks to the 2018 movie Bohemian Rhapsody, for which star Rami Malek won an Oscar for his portrayal of lead singer Freddie Mercury. You can experience your favorite hits by the classic rock band, including “I Want It All,” “You’re My Best Friend,” “We Are the Champions,” and the chart-topping “Bohemian Rhapsody,” in the beautiful setting of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.
Sunday, June 30
Viridian presents Stars & Stripes Celebration
You can finish off the weekend with an early Fourth of July celebration at Viridian in Arlington. The free event will feature concerts by Lilly Harvey, The Shane Bell Band, and Live 80, and will also include a pop-up market, bounce houses, food trucks, and a silent auction benefiting Nehemiah Builds. The event concludes with fireworks over the lake.
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Concerts in the Garden: ABBAcadabra
It’s time to break out your bell bottoms and dust off your disco ball, because the music of ABBA is returning to Concerts in the Garden. Cover band ABBAcadabra will play timeless favorites like “Super Trooper,” “Dancing Queen,” and “S.O.S.” The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will not perform at this concert, but they'll return on July 3 and 4 for the Old-Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic.
