The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents Modern Kids Summer Flicks
Modern Kids Summer Flicks features the New York International Children’s Film Festival, a collection of short animation, live action, and documentary films for young audiences. Filmgoers can experience joyful, thoughtful stories that are sure to spark meaningful conversations. The group of films screened on Thursday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth are aimed at kids 8 and over.
Broadway at the Bass presents The Wiz
This all-new production of the Tony Award-winning musical The Wiz returns “home” to stages in an all-new Pre-Broadway tour, the first one in 40 years. The groundbreaking twist on The Wizard of Oz is known for its iconic score packed with soul, gospel, rock, and finger-snapping '70s funk and its stirring tale of Dorothy’s journey to find her place in a contemporary world. The production runs through Sunday at Bass Performance Hall.

Magnolia at the Modern: The Phoenician Scheme
Writer/director Wes Anderson returns with The Phoenician Scheme, in which wealthy businessman Zsa-zsa Korda (Benicio del Toro) appoints his estranged daughter Liesl (Mia Threapleton), a nun, as sole heir to his estate. As Korda embarks on a new enterprise, the two become the target of scheming tycoons, foreign terrorists, and determined assassins. Co-starring F. Murray Abraham, Riz Ahmed, Michael Cera, Bryan Cranston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Hanks, the film will screen six times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Hyena's presents Dale Jones
With 30 years in the making, Dale Jones accentuates his machine gun-style delivery with a healthy dose of animated faces and then combines that with quick improvisations and well-placed physical comedy. In addition to his training at the world-famous Second City, Jones has several viral videos on TikTok and has appeared on TBS' The Very Funny Show, Last Comic Standing, 30 Seconds to Fame, and Stand Up Live Nashville. He'll perform four times through Saturday at Hyena's Comedy Nightclub.
Bri Bagwell in concert
An eight-time winner of Female Vocalist of the Year from Texas Regional Radio Report, Bri Bagwell has seen her audience grow and diversify as she has progressed through the musical landscape. From her first full-length release, Banned from Santa Fe in 2011, to her 2022 release, Corazón y Cabeza (Heart and Head), Bagwell has commanded the stage for over a decade with her fun live performances and trailblazing artistry. She'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Teton Ridge presents American Performance Horseman
The 2025 American Performance Horseman features a lineup of cutting, reined cow horse, and reining athletes. Among those returning to defend their titles are 2024 champions Adan Banuelos and Casey Deary. They will be joined by a star-studded lineup of riders who have dominated their respective disciplines, culminating in a full concert by Brothers Osborne. The event takes place at Dickies Arena.
Theatre Arlington presents Club Cabaret: Mixtape
Mixtape: An original musical with unoriginal songs is what happens when you reunite the friend group that probably should’ve stayed in the group chat … and press play on every banger you forgot you loved. They came for a chill weekend. They got a mixtape of meltdowns. Old crushes. Old grudges. New levels of awkward. All set to the soundtrack of your '90s heart. The performance takes place at Theatre Arlington.
Eric Gales in concert
Blues rock guitarist Eric Gales has been a big part of the genre for over 30 years, making his official debut with 1991's The Eric Gales Band. He's gone on to release 18 more albums, most recently Crown in 2022, as well as performing on a host of other albums and recordings. He'll make his debut at Billy Bob's Texas.
