New stores are are on the way to Southlake Town Square, and they have a theme: coastal, casual, and up-and-coming.
They include retailers from the East and West coasts, a couple stores just for men, and one making its big Texas debut. All are doing robust online business and are ready to settle down in Tarrant County's premier lifestyle destination, they say.
“We continue to partner with emerging brands that have a proven track record of online sales that don’t have a physical presence in the surrounding market,” says Jason Kasal, vice president and senior leasing director of Kite Realty Group, in a release.
Here's a rundown of the stores opening their doors by the end of this year and in early 2024, per the release:
Vuori: The premium performance apparel brandwill open a 3,030-square-foot space this fall at 319 Grand Ave. E., next to the newly opened Mizzen+Main. Shoppers will find both women’s and men’s apparel "inspired by the active Coastal California lifestyle, which integrates fitness with surf, sport and art," the company says. It's the second DFW location after one in Dallas' NorthPark Center.
Southern Tide: "The brand that defines and delivers the premium coastal lifestyle," the release says, will open its fourth U.S. store at 409 Grand Ave. E., near Sunglass Hut. Southern Tide specializes in premium men’s, women’s and children’s apparel" that sets a new standard in comfort, fit, and design that allows its customer to bring a piece of the South with them wherever they go." The brand will open in a 1,476-square-foot space this holiday season.
johnnie-O: Described as "a men’s apparel brand with a unique style of East Coast classic meeting the SoCal lifestyle," johnnie-O will open its seventh brick-and-mortar shop in the U.S. this fall. It will be a 1,987-square-foot space at 1246 Main St., next to Mi Cocina.
Chubbies: Also for guys, this casual men’s apparel brand touts itself as “official outfitters of Friday at 5 pm.” This will be its fifth U.S. storefront – the first one in DFW – and it's slated for a holiday season opening. The 1,195-square-foot space at 323 Grand Ave. E., next to Vuori, will exclusively offer men’s apparel, including Chubbies’ signature core casual shorts.
FOUNT: Hailing from Ohio, this first-in-Texas store will sell "classic American heritage leather goods made from the finest ethically sourced leather and materials." FOUNT bags, the release says, are designed in Ohio and handcrafted by skilled artisans in the U.S., as well as in the Dominican Republic and Leon, Mexico, "through fair-trade partnerships that ensure excellent quality, fair labor practices, and livable wages." It will open this holiday season at 416 Grand Ave. W. near COACH, in a 2,281-square-foot space.
Skin Laundry: Opening in early 2024, the brand offering signature laser and light treatments provided by registered nurses to rejuvenate skin cells, boost collagen production and improve clarity for transformative results with no downtime. A medical company specializing solely in facials, Skin Laundry’s team consists of registered nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants trained and guided by board-certified dermatologists. Skin Laundry will make its Tarrant County debut (there are two in Dallas) at 1520 East Southlake Boulevard, near Crumbl Cookies and The Hair Bar, in a 1,612-square-foot space.
Coming soon
As previously announced, Southlake Town Square will soon welcome retailers Tecovas (301 Grand Ave. W.), a fast-growing Austin-based retailer of cowboy hats and Western wear; and Faherty (301 Grand Avenue East), retailer of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories made from soft, premium fabrics.
They join recently opened retailers Aritzia, a popular Canadian fashion retail brand; and Mizzen + Main, a men's retailer that touts itself as maker of “the best damn dress shirt."
New restaurant
Postino Wine Café is slated for a summer opening (though no exact date is set) at 1426 Main St. It draws its name from the Italian word for postman, an homage to the former 1940's post office in Phoenix where the first Postino opened 21 years ago. There are currently 23 locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, and Texas, including six in Houston and one in Addison, with each location unique to the neighborhood and community in which it lives. The restaurant will be located next to Free People, in a 5,000-square-foot restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining.
