The Cliburn will host its Classically Cliburn Gala 2018: A Russian Romance. The Russian-themed evening pays tribute to the 60th Anniversary of Van Cliburn’s historic International Tchaikovsky Competition victory in Moscow at the height of the Cold War. The Cliburn will also be honoring immediate past chairman Carla Kemp Thompson, and her husband Kelly, for years of tremendous service and dedication.
Highlights of the black-tie event will include an elegant reception featuring a caviar and vodka bar, and music by the Dallas String Quartet; a formal seated dinner and dancing to the music of the Chris Norton Band; and a late-night Sigarnyy Klub with hand-rolled cigars.
