Amon Carter Museum of American Art will celebrate mighty moms and gifted girls at the Fierce Female festival. The event will feature a day of free programs exploring works of art of and by women, including exhibitions by Lebanese-American photographer Rania Matar, experimental photographer Ellen Carey, and a group of Texas-based women sculptors.
Visitors can listen to the sounds of the collection during an a cappella performance from the vocal ensemble VOICES of Fort Worth, performing pieces inspired by the art at the Amon Carter. They can also get to know women in American art on a free docent-guided tour, pose for their own mother-daughter photo inspired by work on view in "In Her Image," take an interactive artist personality quiz to discover their artistic match, and get crafty at the button-making station.
