"The Marilyn Effect" is a fashion and art experience staged alongside the exhibition of Marilyn Monroe photographs by celebrated photographer Lawrence Schiller.
Part runway, part gallery night and part collaborative artwork, "The Marilyn Effect" brings contemporary fashion into direct conversation with one of the most enduring images in American popular culture. Schiller photographed Monroe at a moment when Hollywood, celebrity, sexuality, fashion and mass media were beginning to permanently reshape one another. More than half a century later, her image remains instantly recognizable, making the exhibition an unexpected backdrop for a night examining how personal style, image and identity continue to intersect today.
The evening will feature looks from M.L. Leddy’s and Forty Five Ten, Wild Silks styling and a preview of Collected by Christi, with additional participation from fashion and lifestyle partners throughout the event. Among the evening’s defining moments will be "Threads of Us," an interactive fashion work created by the guests themselves.
Guests will experience the Schiller exhibition alongside the runway presentation, "Threads of Us," light bites, cocktails and champagne, shopping, photography, and opportunities to meet participating designers and creative partners.
