"Solo Show[Down]" is an annual juried exhibition featuring artists from all over the world of multiple disciplines. This exhibition is an opportunity for artists to win a variety of prizes that benefit their creative endeavors.
Each year, one artist is selected for the grand prize of a solo exhibition in one of the galleries during Fort Worth Art Dealer Association’s yearly Gallery Night event. The runners up receive the opportunity to display in a group exhibition and the people’s choice artist on Facebook with the most likes wins a cash prize of $250. All artists are included in an exclusive exhibition catalog.
For 2019, Fort Worth Community Arts Center will feature Christina Rees as their juror for "Solo Show[Down]." Rees is the Editor-in-Chief of Glasstire. Prior to joining Glasstire full-time in 2014, Rees served as an editor at both The Met and D Magazine, as a full-time art and music critic at the Dallas Observer, and has also covered art and music for the Village Voice and other publications. Rees lives in Dallas, where she was previously the owner and director of Road Agent gallery and the curator of Fort Worth Contemporary Arts.
The exhibit will be on view July 5-24.
